New Zealand Society For Bioenergetics Analysis
The NZSBA is an incorporated society whose aim is to provide training to the people who are dedicated to bioenergetics analysis. As it deals with psychotherapy, that is a technique which revolves around the energy and its re-establishment. Members are required to adhere to ethics and moral of this society.
The New York society for Bioenergetics Analysis was formed by David Berceil, a Certified Bioenergetic therapist. NZSBA was organized for the purpose of training and quality professionals. NZSBA is affiliated with IIBA (international institute of bioenergetics analysis) which is based in Switzerland .
CBT
Therapistswho have completed their degree in bioenergetics therapy from NZBSA are known as Certified Bioenergetics Therapists (CBT).
Conditions to be a trainee
- Must be or enrolled in to be a graduate from a tertiary program in counseling/psychotherapy (or a related field eg. social work or nursing)
- Be a member in human services community or related to association that possesses a code of ethics.
- Clear interview conducted by NZSBA.
Training Program
It is divided into two parts, Pre-clinical phase and clinical phase.
Pre clinical phase
- This phase is of 3 years
- Trainee studies about historical foundations and core principle of bioenergetics
- Relationship between Bioenergetics analysis and theories of development psychology
- Study about aetiology, bodily manifestations, core defensive behavior and energetic processes related to structure of the object
- Reading the movements of energy in the body
- Bioenergetics techniques that are concerned with body’s energetic process
- To provide service of facilitation like self-awareness, expression and possession in the patient
Clinical phase
This is of two years.
- Practice and implement the knowledge gained in pre clinical
- Begin to work under supervision
Certification requirements
- One must have completed 450 hours of workshops over a period of 4 years
- Successfully completed an annual evaluation process
- Completed 150 hours of personal bioenergetic therapy
- Completed 50 hours of bioenergetic supervision
- Completed a substantial case study
- Certified by two members of international faculty
Expenditure:
An estimated expenditure is $2500 per annum for a group of 16 students and $3300 for a group of 12 students. Charges for personal therapy and supervision are not included in this.
